刘艺生长在一个有浓厚艺术气氛的家庭,其父刘锦堂(又名王悦之)为著名的油画家、美术教育家,是与徐悲鸿、林风眠同时期的中国新美术运动先驱之一。刘艺自幼受家庭熏陶,7岁起开始练习书法,70余年笔耕不辍。秋水为神雪泥鸿爪——追求独特艺术风格刘艺书法五体兼擅,尤以章草最负盛名,书风古朴庄穆,洒脱飘逸,别具风采,影响深远。作品先后参加过历届全国书法展、中日代表书法家作品展、旧金山中国当代书法艺术展等重大展览。 Liu Yi grew up in a family with a strong artistic atmosphere.
