Frank Wilczek, a Jewish family born in Mayorilla, New York, May 1951, received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chicago in 1970, a Master of Mathematics degree from Princeton University in 1972, 1974 Ph.D. in Physics, Princeton University. During his Ph.D. study, Verceck and his mentor, David Jonathan Gross, discovered asymptotic freedom in quantum chromodynamics. So they shared the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics with Hugh Politzer, another American physicist. Professor Vercek worked at the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton University and the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is currently a Professor of Herman Feshbach, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Physics. Professor Vercek focuses on the research of condensed matter physics, astrophysics and particle physics. His research results promote the development of theories such as axons, arbitrary children, gradual freedom, color superconductivity of quark matter and quantum field theory. In addition, Professor Verceck is also a large number of popular science books, such as “the lightness of existence: the unity of quality, ether and force.” In October 2014, Professor Welchke was invited to visit Peking University and delivered a speech entitled “A Beautiful Appeal: Exploring Nature’s Worthiest”. Peking University President Wang Engo presented him with Peking University “University Top Scholars ” medal and “Peking University Centennial Physics Forum ” medal. After the report, Professor Vercek accepted an interview with a special correspondent. During the interview, Professor Vercheck proposed that human beings have a very limited knowledge of the world around us. Therefore, it is very meaningful to use the mathematical equations to identify the forces of nature in order to guide human practices. He believes that unity is one of the beauty in science, and has repeatedly stressed that basic scientific knowledge, especially mathematical knowledge, is of great significance to interdisciplinary research and in-depth research. Studies in various scientific fields are highly inter-related internally. It is out of awe of nature and the spirit of searching, Professor Welchke in theoretical and physical exploration of continuous forward.
