问题的提出潜江凹陷为白垩—第三纪地层层序(由新而老):第四系平原组,上第三系广华寺组,下第三系荆河镇组、潜江组和新沟嘴组,白垩系渔洋组。对上述地层之间接触关系的传统看法,是第四系、上第三系等地层的底部与下伏层为不整合接触,其余均为整合关系。1980年笔者提出:潜江组与荆沙组之间和下第三系与白垩系之间存在区域性的不整合面。近年来笔者在研究地震剖面时,找到了一些证据,特介绍如下:
PROBLEM PROBLEMS The Qianjiang Sag is a Cretaceous-Tertiary stratigraphic sequence (from new to old): the Quaternary plain group, the Upper Triassic Guanghuasi Formation, the Lower Tertiary Jinghezhen Formation, Qianjiang Formation and Xingouzui Formation, Cretaceous Yuyang Formation. The traditional view of the contact between the above strata is that the bottom of the strata of the Quaternary, Upper Tertiary, etc. are not in conformity contact with the underlying layer, and the rest are all integrative. In 1980, the author proposed that there should be a regional unconformity between Qianjiang Formation and Jingjing Formation and between the Lower Tertiary and Cretaceous.
