中药炮制经过数千年的实践经验,在配合中医临床、提高疗效、保证药品质量等方面起到了重要作用,但因为中药的种类很多、品种繁杂,各地炮制方法并不完全一致,且由于历史条件的限制,目前中药炮制很多还是手工作坊生产,而现今的科学技术发展要求中药炮制工艺向机械化、自动化等方向发展,同时人们对中药炮制文化遗产应“继承不泥古、发扬不离宗”,以免偏离中药原有的内在属性。
