近十到十五年间,载重汽车变速器的基本型式仍然是机械式有级变速器。变速器的发展有如下趋势:改进结构,以提高效率相寿命;增加档数;减轻操纵。有级变速器的效率与下列因素有关:结构方案、啮合的齿轮副数目、加工工艺、转速、所用的润滑系统、润滑油、箱壳中的油温和油面、传递功率的大小、挂接的档位和其它因素。
