电视已逐渐成为现代生活不可缺少的一部分。吃完晚饭后,一家人主要的活动往往是围坐在电视机旁进行的。但自电视发明几十年以来,其外观的改进并不太大,而且是屏幕越大,电视机就越厚,重量也就越重。人们一直希望有一天电视可以像一张油画那样挂在墙上观看,而这一天终于到来了。 最近,日本三菱公司和索尼公司相继研究开发出了大屏幕平面薄壁式液晶显示电视机。 利用活性基质液晶显示技术制作计算机和电视机的荧光屏已不是什么新鲜事了。笔记本型计算机、袖珍彩色电视机采用的都是液晶显示的荧光屏,其色彩和图像质量都不错。但如果利用活性基质液晶显示技术来制造大尺寸的荧光屏就不适宜了,它的造价太昂贵,耗能大,质量也不稳定。所以一般时间以来,大屏幕的液晶显示电视的研制一直未取得突破性进展。
Television has gradually become an integral part of modern life. After dinner, the family’s main activity is often sitting around the TV. However, since the invention of the television for decades, the appearance of the improvement is not too big, but the larger the screen, the thicker the TV, the heavier the weight. People have been hoping that one day the television could hang on the wall like an oil painting, and the day finally arrived. Recently, Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation and Sony Corporation have developed a large-screen flat-panel thin-wall LCD TV. The use of active matrix liquid crystal display technology for computer and television screen is nothing new. Notebook computers, pocket color TV screen are used in liquid crystal display, the color and image quality are good. However, if the use of active matrix liquid crystal display technology to manufacture large-size screen is not suitable, it is too expensive, energy consumption, quality is not stable. Therefore, in general, the development of large-screen liquid crystal display television has not made any breakthrough.
