根据国务院《关于在我国统一实行法定计量单位的命令》,我国的计量单位一律采用《中华人民共和国法定计量单位》。在一九八四年一月廿日国务院第21次常务会议通过的《全面推行我国法定单位的意见》中明确规定:报纸、刊物、图书、广播、电视,从1986年起均要按规定使用法定计最单位。新撰写的研究报告,学术论文以及技术情报资料等均应使用法定计量单位。允许在法定计量单位之后,将旧单位写在括弧内。
