1957年夏季的一天,一位年轻的地质学者来到贵州西南部滇桂黔三省交界处的兴义市顶效镇绿荫村,他无心留恋这里山清水秀的迷人风景,却被农舍墙壁上的碎石板吸引住了:在有些石板的表面,赫然显现出一些“四脚蛇”的形态。化石!爬行动物化石!这位地质学者立刻敏感地意识到。但是,他或许不知道的是,就在这一刻,中国,乃至亚洲的第一块三叠纪海生爬行动物化石,在经历了亿万年沧海桑田的地质巨变后重见天日。
One day in the summer of 1957, a young geologist came to Luyeping Village, Dingxia Town, Xingyi City, at the junction of Yunnan, Guizhou and Guizhou provinces in the southwest of Guizhou Province. He was unmotivated by the picturesque landscape of the beautiful scenery here, but was broken by the walls of the farmhouse Slate attracted: in some stone surface, impressively show some “four-legged snake ” shape. Fossil! Reptile fossils! The geologist immediately became aware of it. However, what he may not know is that just at this moment, the first Triassic marine reptile fossils in China and even in Asia have re-emerged after experiencing the tremendous geological changes of hundreds of millions of years.
