麦吸浆虫是我市小麦生产上一种毁灭性害虫,近年来再度回升猖獗,给小麦生产帶来严重威胁。为了有效地控制该虫的为害,从1987年9月至1989年6月,我们从15个品种中筛选出了抗麦吸浆虫品种——临50744。 经两年的筛选、试验、示范证明该品种: 1.对小麦吸浆虫有很强的抗虫性:在两年中,经多点多次调查,穗被害率、粒被害率和危害损失率均为零。抗虫的原因据解剖镜下观察,该品种的颖壳表面茸毛长且密,这些茸毛由颖壳中心向四周由疏而密分布,靠近护颖边缘的14mm~2内竟有茸毛629根,平均每mm~2有茸毛44.9根;外颖露出护颖部分10.5mm~2内有茸毛324根,平均每mm~2有茸毛30.9根;内颖的边缘(与外颖相结的部分)有一排长、硬且密的毛刷状茸毛,3mm长竟有84根茸毛。另据观测,该品种在抽穗扬花期,外颖稍宽于内颖,护、外颖坚硬且厚,与内
