Self and foreign identities are nowadays a fashionable topic in the field of ancient studies.Camilla Di Biase-Dysons provides an innovative,however not comprehensive approach to frame the character of the Egyptian(s) as well as their counterparts,the foreigners.The serious monograph is a revised version of her doctoral thesis at Macquarie University in 2008.She therein focuses on a corpus of literary stories from the Egyptian Ramesside and early Third Intermediate Period portraying the Egyptian and foreign character which consists of four Late Egyptian texts:the Doomed Prince,the Quarrel of Apophis and Seqenenre,the Taking of Joppa,and the Misfortunes of Wenamun.
