The development of the biochemistry of the Soviet Union is inseparable from the development of world biochemistry and the road opened up by Russia’s biochemistry before the revolution. The production of scientific biochemistry should come at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, when quantitative chemistry research had established the scientific foundations. М.В.Ломоносов is a pioneer of this era. He also drafted a great plan in the eighteenth century: “Test everything that can be measured, weighed and calculated,” and the phytochemical part is included in this “everything.” Lavoisier, Priestley, and several others in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries articulated the cycle of major biological elements in the living and the inorganic world.
