奥拉西奥·基罗加(Horacio Quiroga)是当代拉美著名的短篇小说家。他写出了许许多多反映拉美地区,特别是阿根廷北部森林地区社会状况的小说,首创“恐怖现实主义”。被誉为“拉丁美洲短篇小说之王”。《爱情、疯狂和死亡的故事》是奥拉西奥·基罗加创作生涯处于高峰时期的作品集,首次出版于一九一七年,共收进了十五个短篇小说。收入这本短篇小说集中的《羽毛枕头》、《斩首的母鸡》等篇章都代表了作者的创作风格与写作特点。下面我仅从其中的一些篇目入手,谈一谈基罗加的创作风格。
Horacio Quiroga is a famous Latin American short story writer. He wrote many novels that reflect the social conditions in Latin America, especially in the forest areas in northern Argentina, and pioneered “terrorist realism.” Known as “the king of Latin American short stories.” The Story of Love, Madness and Death is a collection of works by Horacio Krogoga during his peak career, first published in 1917 and collected a total of 15 short stories.
