科技情报工作必须为国民经济建设服务。当前的情报工作除了进行科技情报的基础工作之外,还应走出情报室,联合科技群体,协同工作。充分发挥地震学会横向联合的优势,更广泛地开辟渠道,进行情报信息交流活动,尽力做到有效地为国民经济建设服务,是情报工作横向联合的主要方面。由于横向联合,使我们有机会广泛地接触科研、生产,设计、院校等诸单位的人员,扩大了情报来源和情报用户,使情报工作从单一型发展到新颖的多项型,从情报室扩大到全省包括与地震工作相关的各学术团体;由于横向联合科技群体,可以多途径、多层次、多形式地进行情报信息交流活动,为地震科技情报工作开拓一条新路,也为知识商品、技术商品开辟了新市场。
