XI. Pre-1900 Situations Let us now conclude the situation up to 1900. The system concept of transmitting visual images first appeared in 1877. Three were proposed by that year: Sanglak, Carey, Sawyer, and presumably De Peva. However, according to the order of priority of the actual invention, De Peva should be the first to be devalued, followed by Adelaide in 1879, Elton and Pelli in 1880, Carey, Sawyer and Le Blanc.
