一、引言连县早石炭世地层发育,分布广泛,出露良好,主要为碳酸盐岩浅海相沉积,夹含煤性较差的海陆交互相地层,化石丰富,特别是珊瑚化石甚多,是研究华南石炭系的重要地区之一。本区地层古生物工作的历史悠久。解放前莫柱孙和杜衡龄(1943);解放后南岭区测队(1956—1958)、广东区调队(1964、1973)、广东省煤田地质勘探公司、吴望始等 (1980)、许寿永等(1981)和南颐(1982)等都先后做过区域地质和地层古生物工作,但
I. INTRODUCTION The Early Carboniferous strata in Lianxian County are well developed and widely distributed. They are well exposed.
