The magnetic method was reported for improving the electrochemical properties of the electrode alloys, also the researches indicated that this way can optimize the properties of hydrogen storage alloys (HSA), such as increasing the discharge capacity, prolonging the cycling life of the electrode, lowing the temperature of hydrogen desorption, and improving the equilibrium hydrogen pressure. At the same time, before and after the hydrogen absorption/desorption(AD) process, the magnetism of the HSA changed. Researchers studied these phenomena, wanting to dig the deeper relationship between them, and to find the theoretical reasons to support their ideas.
