When studying at the Preparatory Department of Yunnan Institute for Nationalities, I was fortunate enough to have heard of a Pumi ethnic classmate who talked about the unique customs of their ethnic groups. Pumi men and women are quite free marriage, to marriage age, each on their own in a variety of occasions to find their own people. However, by the time men and women are truly engaged in marriage and marriage, it is ultimately necessary to invite the right people to be the matchmakers. In the eyes of the Pumi people, their match-makers rarely have the colors of running a marriage and cheating money, unlike the greedy and svelte matchmakers of Han legend. Love of men and women in the matchmaker’s guidance and help held a “respect pot village ” (cousin) ceremony, you can choose to hold a wedding day. The Pumi wedding ceremony is complicated and the ceremonies are grand. Among them, the custom of “matchmaker” is very lively and vivid, full of fun and unique.
