元话语作为指称或描述语言的语言,是方便交际、提高语篇的可读性、构建与听者和读者关系的重要手段,在口头和书面交际中都发挥着至关重要的作用。本文基于Hyland的人际元话语模式采用人工计算方式,选取3篇奥巴马经济类演讲为语料,对该演讲中元话语标记语进行定量分析,旨在揭示元话语在经济类演讲中的分布,以及奥巴马在经济类演讲中倾向于使用那类元话语,元话语如何体现语篇功能和人际功能。结果表明,奥巴马经济类演讲语篇中出现了数量不少的元话语,而且演讲中的互动性元话语高于交际性元话语。
As a language of reference and description language, meta-discourse is an important means to facilitate communication, improve the readability of discourse and build a relationship with listeners and readers. It plays a vital role both verbal and written communication. Based on Hyland’s interpersonal meta-discourse model, this paper selects three Obama’s economic discourse as the corpus to quantitatively analyze the meta-discourse markers in the discourse, in order to reveal the distribution of meta-discourse in economic lectures, In economics lectures tend to use that kind of meta-discourse, meta-discourse discourse and interpersonal function. The results show that there are a large number of meta-discourse in Obama’s economic discourse discourse, and the interactive meta-discourse in the speech is higher than the communicative meta-discourse discourse.
