戏曲批评理论中的“关目”主要指结构安排吸引人的、适合舞台演出的故事或在故事中具有有效性和重要作用的情节,这一批评范畴强调戏曲创作要呈现有意味的形式美和丰富充实的内蕴美。“关目”常有漏洞,以往人们对其多持批判态度,认为它是戏曲剧本在情节结构方面所表现出来的不合情理、不合逻辑、不够严密的现象。然从审美和接受美学的角度看,古人所谓的关目漏洞当分而论之。那些有意为之的假漏洞有其积极的美学意蕴,它在客观上完成对现实人生的本真揭示,指引观众体悟生存的意义,使观众的审美趣味得以提高,情感阅读期待得到满足。
