魏晋以来,人们开始自觉地发现“美”的历程,这其中既有对人们自身品性才情之美的发现,也有对天地间自然万物之美的体悟。如果说前者的发现开启了起源于品题人物的魏晋清谈玄风,那么对后者的体悟则开创了艺术创作的新领域,山水田园诗歌以及山水画作从此兴起,历千年而不衰,山水自然之美亦逐渐融入中国人的生命之中。这里,笔者将以《文心雕龙·物色》篇为主,结合魏晋时期山水画论试对魏晋南北朝时期人们的自然审美意识做一勾勒与把握,并力图对其背后的审美思维及心理作一初步的论述。
