福建福鼎市南溪地区出露一套古生代地层,通过研究其岩性、所含化石、稳定同位素、构造形迹等特征及与其它基底对比分析,表明:(1)其虽具有复理石建造乃至地槽沉积的某些特征,但总体而言仍属华夏古陆基础上发展起来的地台型盖层沉积;(2)该古生代浅变质岩系可分为上、下两套;(3)其上套为上古生界,可沿福鼎—宁波裂陷槽与浙江同时代地层类比;下套为下古生界,具体为奥陶系—泥盆系,可以和广东、海南、浙江等地区的同时代地层类比。沉积物以正常碎屑为主,火山物质较少。沉积环境为华夏古陆裂解过程产生的裂陷槽,其碎屑源于华夏古陆中相邻的微陆块
