But if you’re like 75 percent of the people who replied on Twitter to that statement, 1. 你会觉得很难理解。That’s because you, and over 750,000 people, see the dress as white, with gold trim (饰物).
People who see the “white” dress can’t believe that anyone could possibly see it as a blue dress. And 2. people who see it as blue can’t believe that anyone could possibly see it as white.
Caitlin McNeill, 21, lives in Scotland; she has a friend who was getting married and the mother of the bride(新娘) was looking for a nice dress to wear to the wedding. 3. She found “the dress” and took a picture of it to show to her daughter.
When her daughter saw the picture and started talking about it, 4. they discovered that people had very different ideas of what colour the dress was. So McNeill posted the picture on a website called Tumblr to ask people what they saw when they looked at the dress.
Nearly a million people have said something about it, and about three-quarters of them say they see a dress that’s white with gold stripes (條纹). The rest see it as blue with black stripes.
