目前,广东省共有342个省级专业镇,主要以劳动密集型的传统产业为主,聚集了大量中小微型企业,形成了1.8万亿元的经济规模,占全省GDP的比重已超过30%,成为全省发展镇域经济的主要抓手。2013年,全省申报专业镇中小微企业服务平台建设项目达到303项,建设金额超过100亿元,重点建设省级核心服务平台,以及建立专业镇生产力促进中心、技术创新服务平台、检验检测服务平台、电子商务与信息网络服务平台、专业镇现代服务产品超市平台,带动传统产业技术创新,推动专业镇产业转型升级,全面提高专业镇中小微型企业的创新能力和传统产业发展水平。
