随着纺织工业的发展以及人们对美化生活要求的日益增长,印染工业也得到了迅速的发展。由于印染生产工艺流程长、化学反应复杂、机型高大多变,加之厂房内多浓雾、滴水,夏季湿热和严重的酸碱腐蚀,使印染厂房的建筑设计变得较为复杂。目前,国内印染厂大都为带空调厂房,存在着投资费用高、构造复杂、建设周期长等问题。在南方地区,由于冬季短、月平均气温在0℃~5℃以上,加上印染生产工艺本身对温湿度没有要求,这样就完全有可能建立一种适合于南方地区的经济实用而易于建设的无空调印染厂房。
