On May 12, 1952, Life magazine, published in the United States, published an eye-catching account of the “Hornet” destroying the “Hobson” destroyer. “ As soon as this illustrated story was published, it immediately caught the attention of the American public. Almost all those who experienced World War II knew that the ”Hobson“ destroyer was a well-known heroic ship of the United States during World War II. The destroyer took part in many naval battles during World War II and won many exploits. It won 6 medals and 1 president’s award. The destroyer, which had undergone many tests in the flames of war, had even been attacked by a Japanese ”Kamikaze" suicide aircraft during the Pacific War, but it survived tenaciously. However, during the peacetime in 1952, the destroyer of this heroic person had failed to fulfill its obligations. This brutal fact made it unforgiving for many Americans to embarrassed them.
