李家村里,前阵子来了一位姓吴的画师。村子偏僻,少壮都出外谋生,画师的到来,令村里人颇为好奇。村里多得是荒废的宅子。吴画师挑了一处僻静的宅子,稍加整理,就住了进去。之后,深居简出,也不与旁人打交道。但还是不时有人来拜访,请他去画遗像,这也是吴画师赖以谋生的方式。李家村里的陈生,是从外处迁来的。陈生的老娘去世得早,老爹靠着上山砍柴,将唯一的儿子拉扯成人。可就在不久前,陈老爹上山砍柴时,受了风寒,从此一病不起。
