湖北武汉是中国近代最早兴建钢铁工业的地区。汉冶萍公司作为近代中国规模最大的钢铁煤联营企业,“阳夏一厂,冶萍两山,为全国富强命脉所系。”[1]其规模之庞大,影响之深远,为中国所仅有。汉冶萍公司的历史,基本上反映了中国近代钢铁工业的历史,堪称“中国钢铁工业的摇篮”。惜乎办理不良,营业日就衰败,终至沦为日本钢铁工业的原料开采机构。抗战初期,国民政府为了建立战时工业的需要,断然决定对汉冶萍公司汉阳铁厂、大冶铁厂实行征用拆迁,另在大后方创办新厂,以树立国防重工业的基础。依靠武汉会战赢得的宝贵时间,克服重重困难,湖北钢铁工业完成了重要工业装备跨区域转移的空前壮举,从而奠定了大后方钢铁工业的基础,为全民族抗战的最终胜利作出了宝贵的贡献。
Wuhan, Hubei Province is the earliest construction of iron and steel industry in modern China. "[1] It is a large-scale and far-reaching enterprise with a strong influence on China Only The history of Han Ye Ping Company basically reflects the history of China’s modern steel industry and is called the cradle of China’s iron and steel industry. Unfortunately for bad, business day on the decline, and finally reduced to Japan’s steel industry raw material mining agencies. In the early days of the war of resistance against Japan, in order to establish the need of wartime industry, the National Government categorically decided to impose demolition on the Hanyang Ironworks and Daye Ironworks of Hanyeping Company and set up a new plant at the rear of the Great Hall of the People to establish the foundation of national defense heavy industry. Relying on the precious time won by the battle in Wuhan and overcoming numerous difficulties, Hubei Steel Industry completed an unprecedented feat of trans-regional relocation of important industrial equipment, thus laying the foundation for the steel industry at the rear of the Great Hall of the People and making valuable contributions to the eventual victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
