生物护岸工程是用可降解生物 (椰皮 )纤维编织袋装土 ,形成台阶岸坡 ,然后栽上植被。采用这种护岸或固堤形式可防止土壤冲走 ,能承受较大的冲刷力。美国新泽西州雷里坦河一段生物护岸工程经受了一次飓风洪水考验后 ,证实了土工生物工程应用的可靠性。
Biological bank protection project is to use biodegradable biological (coconut) fiber woven bags of soil, forming a step slope, and then planted with vegetation. The use of this type of bank protection or embankment to prevent the soil washed away, can withstand greater erosion force. After a hurricane flood test was carried out on a section of bio-revetment on the Rift River in New Jersey, USA, the reliability of geotechnical engineering applications was confirmed.
