一次,教育家陶行知看到一个学生用泥块砸同学,当即斥止,令他放学后到校长室。陶行知来到校长室,这个学生已等在门口准备挨训了。一见面,陶行知却掏出一块糖给他,并说:“这是奖给你的,因为你准时,我却迟到了。” 学生惊疑地接过糖果。陶行知又掏出一块糖放到他的手上:“这第二块糖也是奖给你的,因为我不让你再打人时,你立即就停止了。”
On one occasion, Tao Xingzhi, an educator, saw a student block his classmate with a mud block and immediately rebuked him and sent him to the principal’s room after school. Tao Xingzhi came to the principal’s room and the student had waited for the training at the door. Upon meeting, Tao Xingzhi took out a piece of sugar to him and said: “This is a prize for you. Because you are on time, I was late.” The student took candy in wonder. Tao Xingzhi took out a piece of sugar and put it in his hand: “This second piece of candy is also awarded to you, because I will not let you hit anyone again and you stop immediately.”
