Careful people found that the “ban” and “release” of fireworks and firecrackers during the Spring Festival once again became a hot topic. Whether it is the media or the streets, are discussing this issue. When it comes to this topic, there are two unavoidable facts that must be mentioned. First, as an important part of traditional Chinese culture, fireworks and firecrackers did bring happiness to many Chinese people. This cultural feature even allowed the world’s metropolis such as New York and Sydney to give special permission to Chinese to fire fireworks. Another fact was that the fireworks According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, during the Spring Festival this year (from the first day of the first month to the seventh day), 7,117 fires were caused by fireworks in the country, accounting for 41% of all fires, an increase over the same period of last year 50.7%, fire killed many people. It is these two facts that have caused the Chinese society to have heated arguments over the banning and release of fireworks and firecrackers. Some people think that should not be banned, while others strongly advocate the ban on such practices, both truth seems to be sufficient, no one can convince anyone.
