广州市西关外国语学校前身是有着60年历史积淀的广州市第十二中学。在教育发展的历程中,我们不断探索适合自身发展的办学之路:率先办成广州市首间公办外国语完全中学,2006年办成12年一贯制的外国语学校。这既是荔湾区委、区政府、区教育局在基础教育改革中的一个重大战略部署,同时也是我们在全球化趋势下顺应时代发展潮流、自强不息、努力开拓的尝试。几年的办学实践使我们认识到,12年一贯学制能更好地适应外语人才的培养。
Guangzhou Xiguan Foreign Language School predecessor is a 60-year history of Guangzhou No. 12 secondary school. In the course of education development, we are constantly exploring ways of running schools that suit our own development. We are the first to become the first full-service secondary school of public foreign languages in Guangzhou and to become a 12-year-old foreign language school in 2006. This is not only an important strategic deployment of Liwan District CPC Committee and District Government and the District Bureau of Education in the reform of basic education, but also an attempt to keep pace with the trend of the times, strive for self-improvement and strive for development under the trend of globalization. Years of schooling practice makes us realize that 12 years of consistent school system can better adapt to the cultivation of foreign language talents.
