日本1980年聚氨酯泡沫产量比1979年增长4%,达199355吨。由于汽车产量不断增长(已达1100万辆),也是聚氨酯需要量增加的主要原因。因为汽车的一些部件,特别是保险杠(车档)已逐步改用聚氨酯制造。把保险杠的材质由金属改成能吸收冲击能的聚氨酯,是关系到行车安全的大问题。日本的日产、三菱、本田技研、东洋工业等公司相继采用了这一革新。目前,已有20种车改用了聚氨酯保险杠。每辆轿车的硬质聚氨酯用量为8公斤,可是由于聚氨酯保险杠的需要量与曰俱增,汽车制造耗用的聚氨酯量自1978年以来,年年成倍增加,
Japan’s polyurethane foam production in 1980 increased by 4% compared with 1979 to 19,935 tons. As the output of automobiles continues to grow (up to 11 million vehicles), it is also the main reason for the increased demand for polyurethanes. Because some parts of the car, especially bumpers (gears), have gradually changed to polyurethane. Changing the material of the bumper from metal to polyurethane, which can absorb impact energy, is a major issue related to traffic safety. Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda Tech, and Toyo Industries have adopted this innovation in Japan. At present, there are 20 types of vehicles that have been converted to polyurethane bumpers. The amount of rigid polyurethane for each car is 8 kg. However, due to the increasing demand for polyurethane bumpers, the amount of polyurethane used in automobile manufacturing has increased exponentially since 1978.
