为何建立医院伦理委员会？如何有效地发挥它的作用？结合实践作如下初探：一、提高认识，看清形势从六中全会《决议》，看建立医院伦理委员会对加强精神文明建设，提高职工医德素质的有效性，认识它是“新载体”，从医学伦理学研究对象，看医院伦理委员会开展研讨活动，是解决医德新问题的有效方法，注入“新活力”。从医学科技发展，看世界医院伦理委员会发展趋势，认识它是开展国际伦理学术交流的“新举措”。二、因势利导，做好三项准备：１讨论制定一个有指导性、可操作的章程；２按民主集中制原则做好组织人选工作；３抓好宣传舆论工作。三、结合实际，开展活动１常委及时制定活动计划；２秘书处很快提出了２８个学习研讨题目；３４个月在《院报》上宣传伦理知识９条；４仅３个月就组织论文４３篇，于１０月中旬按计划召开了研讨会，交流论文４２篇，评选出１０篇优秀论文参加医院学术年会交流。
