The theory holds that the expression of meaning exists in “consistent” and “non-uniform”. Therefore, in the process of translating a code into another code, the translator has multiple language expressions to choose from. When the translation process faces different “equivalent” choices, the considerations provided by the grammatical metaphor theory help the translator to choose more appropriately. In terms of the linguistic meanings of the linguistic expressions chosen by the translation, different forms of choices are intended to better tap the meaning of the original.
