Microsoft announced last month that the forthcoming release of Windows NT 5.0 will support the Kerberos security architecture. It shows that the industry as a whole will adopt Internet universal security technology. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) recently proposed two plans to combine Kerberos with the widely adopted public-key cryptography. The result is both the high performance of Kerberos and the security and flexibility of a public key scheme. One of the combined solutions is a part of TLS (Transport Layer Security)
