《人文科学论纲》是云南大学刘鸿武教授新近出版的一本专著，在学术界引起了广泛反响。书中对人文科学的本质特征；人文科学的价值意义；人文科学发展进步的环境、机制及独特模式；乃至人文科学家的个性气质等方面作了全面阐释。本文试图通过介绍书中的主要观点，提出了让“人类精神家园的守望者”遍布整个科学界，人文教育本应就是各个学科所应有的素质教育。人文精神就是每个科学工作者乃至每个社会人所必备的素质的观点。
The Outline of Humanities is a recently published monograph by Professor Liu Hongwu of Yunnan University, which has aroused widespread repercussions in academia. The book provides an overall explanation of the essential characteristics of the humanities, the value and significance of the humanities, the environment, mechanism and unique modes of development and progress of the humanities, and even the personal qualities of the humanities scientists. This article tries to introduce “the watchman of human spirit home” throughout the entire scientific community by introducing the main points in the book. Humanities education should be the quality education that should be available in all disciplines. The humanistic spirit is the necessary quality point of view for every scientist and every social person.
