化肥厂中置式锅炉、管线、阀门、管件等设备用钢,是在高压中温条件下工作的,对钢材性能的要求极为苛刻。为适应我国石油化工的发展,于七十年代初,国内开始研试抗氢、氮、氨新钢种。对上述石油化工设备部件,国外基本上采用Cr-Mo系,Cr-Mo-W-V系钢和不锈钢,国内多数靠进口。鞍钢、成都无缝钢管厂与石油化工有关单位共同协作,从钢种的筛选、冶轧工艺的探索,机理的研究,使用考核,经过多年的努力,现已研制成功抗氢、氮、氨的12SiMoVNb低合金钢,已于1982年10月鉴定转产。
