2008年5月12日四川汶川大地震震惊中外,8万余生命瞬间丧失,无数财产刹那间化为灰烬,国家蒙难,百姓遭殃。凤凰卫视说得很好:“国殇之日,重生之时。”“重生”是必然的,但“重生”是不是我们的生活重新步入正常,社会若无其事地前行?一切都恢复到震前水平?如果仅仅是这样,那未免让无数的鲜血与泪水白流。我们只有吸取经验教训,获得某些精神与文化的观念,并转化为我们前行的坚实基础,才可能真正实现“重生”。我们必须把这次用无数生命、鲜血和财富换来的精神资粮,比如生命的脆弱、生命的韧性、生命的勇气、生命的光辉、生命的伦理以及生死之情、感恩之心、亲情与友情、大爱与无私、举国一致、感同身受等,揭示出来,保存下去,使之成为中华民族发展的永不枯竭的精神动力,并让我们每一个人都能永远记住,内化为我们前行的坚实基础。这场大灾难应该化为一场全民的生命教育,让我们每一个中国人更坚强,也更能理解生命的真谛:哪些才是我们生命中最可宝贵的东西?哪些是我们应该抛弃的东西?由此就能够知晓自己的一生究竟应该如何度过。这也许就是我们应该且必须要去做的事情。基于此,本刊在推出《将灾难转化为民族振兴的精神资源》(2008年第6期)之后,再次组织这个笔谈希望能尽一份学者的社会责任
