Mycar, a fairy-tale electric car, won wide attention from many people at the Hong Kong booth of Beijing Cobo in May last year. Recently, GAT, the US new-energy automotive company, formally announced the acquisition of EuAuto, the owner of Mycar, in Hong Kong. This means that Mycar, a Hong Kong-made electric domestic-made electric car that can not take root in Hong Kong, has managed to blossom all over the world. The behind-the-scenes hero, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University which is responsible for Mycar’s research and development, will also be able to retire. However, this undoubtedly re-greens the Hong Kong auto industry. In the eyes of the public, Mycar’s success is basically considered a prominent, compared to the gains in other areas, Poly adults seem to be more willing to tell about the success of Mycar, but the fate of the acquisition is undoubtedly let a person feel sorry. In the hearts of intellectuals, Mycar journey from 2003 to now can be described as a heavy blow. However, in light of the information that Mycar has fed back in foreign markets in recent years and the current situation of “marrying” by the new US automaker GAT, PolyU’s technology transfer is remarkable and has long been known locally or even Foreign fame far.
