荀况是我国战国末期新兴地主阶级集大成的思想家,他的哲学和政治思想对我国后来封建社会有重要影响。荀况在哲学上提出“制天命而用之”的人定胜天思想;在政治上,他批判地改造了儒家的礼治思想,为新兴封建地主阶级即将取得全国统治提供哲学和政治理论的根据。由于荀况是由儒家转变过来的思想家,他以孔丘的继承者自命,以及他提倡礼治等,因此,他的学说在历史上曾被认为属于儒家,并和孟轲齐名,被推为孔丘学说的重要阐发者。
Xun Kuang is a thinkers thinker of the emerging landlord class in the late Warring States Period. His philosophical and political thoughts have an important influence on the later feudal society in our country. Xun Kuang put forward philosophically that the idea of “making the destiny and using it” prevails in nature. In political terms, he critically reformed the Confucian thought of administering the courtesy and provided the basis for the philosophical and political theory that the emerging feudal landlord class will soon gain national rule. Because Xun Kuang was a philosopher transformed by Confucianism, he claimed himself as a successor to Confucius, and he advocated rites, his doctrine was historically regarded as Confucian, Qiu theory of the important elucidator.
