客家人元宵赏灯的习俗由来已久。本文试以兴宁乡村的赏灯活动为例,记录赏灯的主要过程及特色,并提出赏灯、暖灯民俗活动的发展创新可以从以下四个方面加以探究:自觉搭建保护非物质文化遗产的平台;革除重男轻女旧俗,高扬男女平等新风;弘扬崇文重教的客家精神,激励同宗族人升学深造,奖励优秀男女学子;推动地方民间手工艺产业的发展。
