In 1964, Skipper et al. proposed the hypothesis of killing cells that the principle of action of most cancer chemotherapy drugs is to directly kill cells by interfering with the cell proliferation cycle. Hiatt et al. proposed other possible principles of action. He believes that the main problem with today’s drugs is not that they do not have a curative effect, but that they cannot find out their specific metabolic pathways for tumor cells. Rose believes that cancer chemotherapeutics can produce temporary immune activation or reverse the body’s immune tolerance to tumors. And it is hypothesized that the failure of drug treatment can be attributed to the loss of immune activation or the suppression of overall immunity, and in some cases these can be caused by drugs.
