随着西部大开发战略的实施,对西部地区特别是贫困地区农村群众体育发展方面的探讨、提高农民健康状况成为建设社会主义新农村一项重要工作,从而促进农村体育发展和经济的增长,缩小东西部差距将有着深远的意义。农村乡镇体育作为农村体育的基础内容和群众体育的重要部分,其对于提高农民群众身体素质、促进农村经济社会发展所起的作用已经为越来越多的有识之士所充分认识。建设社会主义新农村必将呼唤和孕育新的农村体育,为农村体育的发展带来新机遇、提出新任务、注入新活力。农村体育的发展必将服务和促进新农村建设,为新农村建设增添新手段、提供新载体、贡献新支持。本文以以富源县为例,浅要谈谈农村体育的发展。
