一小引宋江的历史,今日保存得太少了。‘忠义水浒傳’用将近一百万字描写宋江及其夥伴的斗争事蹟,使宋江的名字几乎人人皆知。但这是从宋到明五百年间许多文人继续不断的创造的一部小说,不是历史,它的真实性是很成问题的。就看书名上硬要標榜‘忠义’二字,便可以明白这部小说的编著者是怎样在强奸了这帮‘绿林豪侠’的意志。金聖歎批点水浒,站在地主阶级的立埸,要‘把宋江深恶痛绝,使人见之真有狗彘不食之恨’,这使普遍的读者封於宋江都存一些很坏的印象。十九年前作者在北京曾看过高度奎演的水浒戯,从刘唐下书到大闹江州,準带公堂喫屎,也把宋江装拌成一个卑鄙无聊的人,使观众对他发生恶感不起同情心。但这只是封建社会里的戯劇家为了適合地主阶级的要求而创造的宋江,與宋江本人的历史却毫不相干。作者过去深受水浒傳的影响,把小说里的宋江便当作是历史上轰轰烈烈反抗封建统治阶级压迫起义的宋江,封於他的出身和行事极不尊敬,现在知道这完全是个人的错误,雖则十餘年来便已佔有了这许多材料,却不曾去網心分析问题,现在寫这篇文章对宋江的事蹟,提出一些材料和论断,纠正个人过去的一种错鋘看法,把它发表出来對於治宋史和爱好水浒傳和水浒戯的同志或许可以有些帮助。 A small cited Song Jiang’s history, saved too little today. ’Zhonghua Outlaws of the Marsh’ used almost a million words to describe the struggles of Song Jiang and his fellow struggles so that Song Jiang’s name was almost universally known.
