1968年秋,我带领学生到广东省英德县横石塘公社红桥大队帮助秋收。一天中午我接到学校的电话,说弄到一部重拍的彩色故事片《渡江侦察记》拷贝,准备送到红桥先给贫下中农放映,放映员乘汽车已出发,傍晚即可到达。我一听,高兴极了。除了八个样板戏,我们几乎两年没看到别的影片了,红桥地处山区,很多贫下中农连小银幕电影都未看过,更何况这种大银幕彩色影片。这消息对他们来说无疑喜从天降。于是我马上到大队部通报这一消息。大队的领导都下到生产队抓秋收去了,只留一个秘书,他听了这消息之后,眉头紧皱,摇了摇头说:“这事行不得。”
In the fall of 1968, I took the students to the Hongqiao Brigade of Hengshitang Commune in Yingde County, Guangdong Province to help the autumn harvest. At noon of the day, I received a phone call from the school and said that I had obtained a copy of the remake of the color feature film “Dujiang Reconnaissance Record” and was ready to send it to Hongqiao for the poor middle schooler. The projectionist had already left for the car and could arrive in the evening. I was very happy. In addition to the eight model dramas, we have not seen any other films for almost two years. Red Bridge is located in the mountains. Many poor underprivileged small screen movies have not been seen, let alone this kind of big screen color movie. The news is no doubt for them. So I immediately informed the brigade of this news. The leadership of the brigade went down to the production team to catch the autumn harvest, leaving only a secretary. After listening to the news, he frowned and shook his head and said, “This is not a good thing.”
