Objective To investigate the effect of hypoproteinemia on pregnancy outcome in patients with severe preeclampsia. Methods The clinical data of 123 patients with severe preeclampsia who were admitted to our obstetrics department from January 2011 to December 2012 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into two groups A and B. Group A was hypoproteinemia group with a total of 72 Cases, B group of non-hypoproteinemia group, a total of 51 cases. Results The incidence of blood pressure and complication in group A was higher than that in group B, and the gestational weeks of onset and termination of pregnancy were earlier than those in group B (P <0.05). Neonatal asphyxia and neonatal low birth weight in group A were significantly higher than those in group B Group (P <0.05). Conclusions Patients with severe preeclampsia and hypoproteinemia have early onset, high complication rate and poor prognosis. Therefore, changes in plasma albumin can be used as a routine monitoring indicator in patients with severe preeclampsia to guide therapy.
