博帕尔毒气泄漏事故及其影响1984年12月2日,印度博帕尔市联合碳化公司的农药厂发生有毒气体泄漏,涉及至少30 t氰化物及其他剧毒气体。农药厂周围居民受到致命影响。事故导致2.5万人直接死亡,55万人间接死亡,20多万人永久性残废,被认为是史上最严重的工业灾难之一。博帕尔毒气泄漏事故在美国引起了巨大反响和担忧。为此,美国国会于1986年通过《应急计划和社区知情权法》(Emergency Planning and Community Rightto-Know Act,EPCRA)。
Bhopal Gas Accident and Its Impact On December 2, 1984, a toxic gas leak occurred at Pesticide Plant of Union Carbide, Bhopal, India, involving at least 30 t of cyanide and other toxic gases. Residents around pesticide plants have been fatally affected. The accident resulted in 25,000 direct deaths, 550,000 indirect deaths and more than 200,000 permanent disabilities, considered one of the worst industrial catastrophes in history. Bhopal poisonous gas leak caused great repercussions and worries in the United States. To this end, the U.S. Congress passed the Emergency Planning and Community Rightto-Know Act (EPCRA) in 1986.
