近代以来,伴随中国国势衰微,西方学说大举涌入华夏。在此局面下,中国学术亟需转型开新,从而在新的时代里得以自立,形成真正的中国话语,为中国未来发展提供思想资源。章太炎对此问题,有着极为深入且全面的思考。他面对清末今文经学将儒家宗教化的思潮,力主中华文明的特征在于人文性、世俗性,故极力主张从中国历史的流变中探求中国文化精神。在构建学术体系方面,章太炎从语言文字体系、历史学体系、宗教哲学体系等方面展开分析,相关学说不但疏通知远,而且广大精微。在此基础上,章太炎强调治学应从“自国自心”出发,通过对中国历史与现状的思考,让中国学术一面具有现代品格,一面形成自身的话语特色。

In the construction of academic system, Zhang Taiyan from the language and writing system, history system, religious philosophy system and other aspects of the analysis, the relevant doctrine not only dredge Zhiyuan, and the vast majority of subtle. On this basis, Zhang Taiyan stressed that the study of the state of affairs should proceed from “self-government ”, through the thinking of Chinese history and the status quo, let the Chinese academic have the modern character while forming its own discourse features.
