The Letter to Japan’s Friend Dog Yang Yi-shih is by far the largest and most numerous letter in Sun Yat-sen’s epistolary letters. This letter was a manuscript written by Sun Yat-sen on October 24, 1923 to Japanese friend Yang Yi. The letter analyzes the situation in the post-World War I, especially in the Far East, condemning the invasion by China of the imperialist powers. This letter is an important historical document for studying Sun Yat-sen’s thought in his later years and the relations between China and Japan in modern times. “To Japan Friend Dog Yang Yi Man” preserved in China’s Second Historical Archives.
