棉花新品种鄂抗棉３号是用鄂光棉和荆３２４７杂交，再注入中２５３５的抗病基因，经１０年强压力逆境条件下系统选育出的高产（比中棉１２增产９．６８％～１９．４９％）、高抗枯萎病（病指３．６０）、耐黄萎病（病指３４．４０）、适应性广的高优质陆地棉品种；适宜的栽培密度为３７５００～５２５００株／ｈｍ２，栽培管理上应抓好种子处理、配方施肥、全程化调和防治虫害。
